Native Inmate Liaison Officer (NILO)

The Native Inmate Liaison Officer (NILO) acts to facilitate communication between indigenous inmates, their families, institutional staff and other community resources.   They develop, organize and coordinate cultural and spiritual programming.  They act as a resource with the admission and release of Indigenous inmates.

To provide cultural and spiritual supports for inmates

To act as a resource with the admission and release of Indigenous inmates

Prepare and submit regular reports pertaining to program activities and clients

Coordinate and facilitate individual and/or group counselling to Inmates inmates
